We are delighted to announce the return of our Intern to CEO series of events, in which successful heads of organisations tell us about their journey through the arts.
Sam Jackson, Senior Managing Editor of Classic FM, Smooth and Gold will discuss his career journey, from his days as a music student to his role today where he is responsible for all three station's entire on-air output. Sam Jackson is the Senior Managing Editor of three radio stations – Classic FM, Smooth Radio and Gold – which together reach a combined audience of over 12 million listeners every week.
Sam read Music at the University of York and worked for BBC Television before moving into radio, where he has held a variety of roles over the last fifteen years. For five years, Sam also moonlighted as a presenter on the children’s radio station FUN Kids, where he got to talk to an audience of seven-year-olds about Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers.
Sam is responsible for Classic FM, Smooth and Gold’s on-air output, as well as events such as the twice-yearly Classic FM Live concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. He is a governor of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and a trustee of YCAT.
