We look forward to welcoming Amanda Nevill CBE, Chief Executive of the British Film Institute (BFI), and playwright Bola Agbaje. They will talk about their work, careers and the future, and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask them questions.
Amanda joined the BFI in 2003, and has led its complete transformation into a major organisation valued by the UK industry and recognised as internationally influential. Her focus is on nurturing the next generation of filmmakers and audiences. Before the BFI, Amanda was Head of the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television (National Media Museum) for nine years, also serving as one of the Executive Directors of the National Museum of Science & Industry. Before that, she was CEO of the Royal Photographic Society. Amanda was awarded a CBE in 2015.
Bola is a playwright who graduated from the Young Writers' Programme at the Royal Court in 2007. In 2008, her first playGONE TOO FAR! won the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliated Theatre. Her writing has been presented by the Royal Court Theatre, ATC, Tiata Fahodzi, Hampstead Theatre, Soho Theatre, Young Vic, Talawa and Cardboard Citizens amongst others.
Join us for more discussion over networking drinks at the Hospital Club's Oak Room Bar after the talk.
