Zoom Workshop: Navigating the Arts Jobs Landscape - YPIA Event

Zoom Workshop: Navigating the Arts Jobs Landscape | 20th October 2020 | 6.30pm

Location: Zoom

Join Tom Northey and Lehin Adenekan for an interactive workshop focused on the skills and tools you'll need to find your next job in the arts in these turbulent times.

Our workshop leaders are experts at developing engaging CV's, working on in depth career progression plans and the trials and tribulations of forging successful careers in the arts.

With the world still facing the effects of the pandemic, career plans have been drastically affected and it can be hard to know what to do now and how to prepare for an increasingly uncertain future. Through this workshop, our speakers will guide participants from where we are now to preparing for your next role, whether you're currently searching or planning a career move for the future.

Working with Tom and Lehin, and the other workshop participants, you will be able to reflect on your successes, challenges and opportunities for the future and how you can get the job you want!

Tom Northey is Director of Con Brio, a consultancy working with artists, arts organisations and social organisations on fundraising and business development. Tom began his career at Arts Council England, before working for Opera North and a number of music and arts organisations, delivering programmes in schools and communities.

Lehin Adenekan is a music-focused artist who is currently serving as Chair of Reform Radio's Advisory Board in addition to being a Member of Manchester International Festival's Young People's Forum. In both positions he holds senior leadership to account and serves as a facilitator of conversation and ideas. He is passionate about creativity and anti-racist practice in the arts and beyond.

His work and volunteering experiences have equipped him with expertise in employment and young people, delivering workshops/talks in schools and colleges across the north west. In addition to his freelance work in the music and arts sectors, Lehin works in the corporate sector writing professional documents such as CVs, cover letters and biographies for a range of job candidates up to the board level.
