ypia Theatre - Is The Theatre Critic Dead?
@ Frenchs Theatre Bookshop - 52 Fitzroy Street, London, W1T 5JR
***We are delighted to announce that Mark Shenton (Sunday Express/The Stage) is now confirmed as an additional speaker for this event***
Are theatre reviews influential? Do star ratings matter? Can anyone start a blog and become a critic? The Guardian's Lyn Gardner, Mark Shenton from the Sunday Express / The Stage, Matt Trueman from Carousel of Fantasies, and acerbic funnymen the West End Whingers will debate all these issues and more, ultimately questioning whether the role of the professional theatre critic will be an enduring one.
Chaired by theatre journalist Nancy Groves, a lively evening is guaranteed! The event will be held in the legendary French's Theatre Bookshop in Fitzrovia, which will be open privately for our guests to browse before and after the discussion. All tickets also include a glass of wine. Places are strictly limited for this event, so book now to avoid disappointment.
This event is kindly supported by French's Theatre Bookshop.
