The Importance of International Theatre
@ Jerwood Space - 171 Union Street, London SE1 0LN
Join us for this exciting discussion about the rise of international theatre in Britain in recent years and how it has developed almost as a sub-genre. The panel will explore the differences between British work and that of foreign companies, and debate how important producing or co-producing international work is to Britain's wider theatre scene.
We are delighted to welcome Toni Racklin (Head of Theatre, Barbican) and Joseph Seelig (Director, London International Mime Festival), who will discuss their experiences of producing international work, touching on the practical process of collaborating with artists and companies from other cultures. Returning by popular demand, Matt Trueman, who took part in our March panel debate Is The Theatre Critic Dead?, will chair what is sure to be a fascinating and lively evening.
